The shiny greenish twined rows are of <b>Rattlesnake Master<\/b> leaves, a tall-grass prairie plant, once commonly found in Missouri. And the white twined rows are of <b>Basswood<\/b> fiber, the inner bark of a tree also known as Linden. The bark is rotted for six weeks in a pond, and then rinsed thoroughly, and the inner bark is peeled apart into tissue-thin layers. A piece of scrap leather makes up the cover. The latch bead is a <b>Kentucky Coffee Tree<\/b> bean, and seed beads, shells, and glass beads make up the loop. The hanging cord is hand-spun cordage made with Basswood fiber.
