The shiny greenish twined rows are of <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Rattlesnake Master<\/span> leaves, a tall-grass prairie plant, once commonly found in Missouri. The black center band is the inner bark of <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Black Walnut<\/span>. And the white twined rows are of <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Basswood<\/span> fiber, the inner bark of a tree also known as Linden. The bark is rotted for six weeks in a pond, and then rinsed thoroughly, and the inner bark is peeled apart into tissue-thin layers.
