The base and spokes of this basket are made with the split side of\u00a0Eastern Red Cedar<\/b>\u00a0inner bark. The dark brown bands are\u00a0American Elm<\/b>.\u00a0Willow<\/b>\u00a0outer bark makes up the gray bands. The green twined rows are of\u00a0Rattlesnake Master<\/b>\u00a0leaves, a tall grass prairie plant that was once very common in Missouri. A technique commonly used among the Northwestern coastal Indians, called a Swinomish fold, is used to finish the rim.\u00a0Acacia<\/b>\u00a0seeds,\u00a0horn<\/b>\u00a0beads, and glass beads make up the central ring of decoration.
